Vegan soap

There exist many varieties of soap that have not been made from saponified tallow or other animal fats, but have instead been made from vegetable-origin fats, and therefore they may be preferred by vegans and vegetarians. In addition to fats, the other main ingredient used to make soap is wood ash, made from wood, or potassium hydroxide or sodium hydroxide, which are largely mineral in origin.
