Vendetta (Spanish band)

Vendetta is a group of ska, punk rock and punk from Navarra.

History

After a long professional stage, Luisillo Kalandraka and Javier Etxeberria prepared to give beginning to a new musical project. From its intense international trajectory a new proposal arose. Proposal that Enriko Rubiños, Ruben Anthony (musicians in the last Skalariak stage) and Pello Reparaz made possible.

At the beginning of 2009/10 the band began meeting to give form to the first topics. Two songs recorded of home-made form, were published like small advance of what had being its first songs. Later they sign for the stamp Gor that includes the song «Crédito de hipoteca» in the compilation Aurtengo gorakada 2010.

Almost a year of arrangements and essays they bore its fruit on a disc that preceded a vertiginous tour of international character. The disc was titled like the name of the group, Vendetta. It contains eleven unpublished songs, two versions: the mythical topic «Everyday« of The Selecter that in due time Hertzainak covers (and it titled Egunero) and the song «The munsters» of the musician Jack Marshall. Also there are other topics as: « Loco», «Comando de che guevara», «Son libres », «Como sube», «Soy de barrio», «Ciudad desolacion », «Kolorez busti», «Es mentira», «Miedo y Vendetta»; the last one contains a fragment of the melody of «Your vu ò fà l'americano» of Renato Carosone more known for being the base for the song of the summer 2010 «Paparamericano«. It is the extract of a project with songs based on the ska, a style to which they have been faithful during a musical trajectory of more than ten years. The sifter of the rock has a big presence, as well as other styles like the skinhead-reggae and the Latin - hardcore.

After Vendetta Tour 2009 and Munster Tour 2010, two tours of international character of more than 100 concerts, the band signed for the stamp Baga Biga and announced the exit of its second disc for March 1, 2011. A disc that was waiting that it should mark one earlier and one later in the trajectory of this increasing project.

Finally, on March 1, 2011 there went on sale its second album, Puro Infierno, which one maintains the extract ska of the first one but it includes new rhythms, which strengthen more the exclusivity of the project Vendetta opposite to other groups. On this new disc versions were not included, as if it had happened in the first one, the music became more calmed, without easy party, and the poetry gave a return of 360 grades. There are appreciated in this album certain influences of groups like Skalariak, Manu Chao, The Police or The Clash. For this album, Pello Repáraz and Javier Etxeberria are those who wrote the letters of the topics and those who, along with Luisillo Kalandraka, were in charge of putting theirs voice.

On December 5, 2012 its third study album went out to the street: Fuimos, Somos y Seremos- Atzo, Gaur eta Bihar. A much more mature disc, with many other musical tones. It is a question of a conceptual work that turns concerning three instrumental topics of the same one: "Fuimos", that opens the disc,"Somos", which puts the average, and We will "seremos", that closes it. Although in this work they continue present the ska rhythms, rock and party, the Jamaican sounds, the reggae, pop and the arrangements of ropes, keys and percussions take a lot of importance. Once again, Pello Repáraz (Bottle of Rum, Udarako gau luzeak, Cerca del mar, Ekainak 24), Javier Etxeberria (Time for freedom, La parranda, Cuidate , Jean Lafitte) and Luisillo Kalandraka (La vida) they were in charge of putting voice to the topics. The instrumental songs were composed by Peio Repáraz (Fuimos, somos y seremos) and Javier Etxeberria (Somos).

The tour “Fuimos, Somos y Seremos” started on February 8 in Hospitalet de Llobregat.

In November of the same year (2014) they throw the titled single-video “Leña al fuego”, Iananticipate of what it will be its fourth study work. They play again with musical styles, this one time approaching the country music or the Celtic punk - rock, without never leaving the extract of the dance and the ska.

On December 5, 2014 the fourth work of the band went out to the light "13 Balas". An inflection point in the Vendetta trajectory. In search of new sounds, they record with Paxkal Etxepare, technician of direct of the band, obtaining a new tone. The also decides to diffus of its music offering it in free discharge to the whole world, jumping this way the physical borders, and of any other type, for the sake of which everybody could enjoy the band.
