Vera Nikolaevna Shatalina (Russian: Вера Николаевна Шаталина ; born May 27, 1966[1] in Tashkent, Uzbek SSR, Soviet Union) is an honored Master of Sports coach of Russia in Rhythmic gymnastics.

Early career

Shatalina was a former rhythmic gymnast and was trained under Irina Viner. She has competed in International tournaments and national competitions of the USSR.

Coaching career

Shatalina came to prominence in the 1990s when she became one of the official coaches of Russia's Senior National team for individual rhythmic gymnastics. She has trained Olympic champions, World Champions and World Cup champions.[2] She was also the secondary coach of 2004 Olympic champion Alina Kabaeva.

Shatalina coaches in the Olympic reserve school in the Training center for rhythmic gymnastics in Moscow. Her current students include: Diana Borisova, Arina Averina, Dina Averina.[3]
