Renate Dorrestein

Renate Maria Dorrestein (born 25 January 1954 in Amsterdam) is a Dutch writer, journalist and feminist. She won the Annie Romein prize in 1993 for her complete body of work. She started working as a journalist for a magazine called Panorama and she published her first novel (Buitenstaanders) in 1983. Her sister's suicide has had a great influence on her books.
