Vicky Pope

Vicky Pope is head of the climate predictions programme at the Hadley Centre. She spent 6 years as manager of atmospheric climate model development and evaluation. Since October 2004 she has been Head of the Climate Prediction Programme which provides independent scientific advice on climate change. Her research interests include developing and validating climate models.

In an interview for The Guardian newspaper, she said:

"very few" scientists disputed the latest IPCC report. "The consensus on warming since the 1850s is that a large part is due to man's activities," she said. "That's the line of the IPCC report and that position is strengthening. It is a very widespread consensus. There are a few very vocal people who are sceptics, only some of whom are actually scientists. Sceptics obviously have a place in the community." link
