Victoria Atkin (born 28 December 1986) is an English actress best known for playing the character Jason Costello, previously known as Jasmine, in the British soap opera Hollyoaks and Hollyoaks Later as the soap's first character with Gender Identity Disorder. Hollyoaks is Atkin's first television role. Atkin also starred as Evie Frye in the game Assassin's Creed Syndicate.
Early years and education
Atkin was born and raised in Farnborough and attended Fernhill School and Language College, studied Dance and Theatre Performance at The University of Chichester in 2008 as well as taking a postgraduate course in Musical Theatre at the Central School of Speech & Drama in 2009[1]
Career
Before she was cast as Jasmine Costello in Hollyoaks Atkin performed in a touring version of Cinderella with the Globe Players. She first appeared on Hollyoaks as Jasmine Costello on the 2 August 2010.[2] She has admitted that the transgender role she played has been tough.[3] In September 2011, Atkin announced she would be leaving Hollyoaks.[4] In March 2012, she filmed a one-off guest appearance on the BBC hospital drama, Holby City. The episode was broadcast on BBC1 on 26 June 2012. In 2013, Victoria headed for the U.S. for her first pilot season. Within just a few months, she landed her U.S. debut role as Camilla Jones in the Cinemax After Dark comedy/drama series The Girl's Guide to Depravity. In 2014, Victoria landed her first U.S. film role in the Ron Pucillo film The Downside of Bliss The film was released in 2015.
She used to be a professional slalom skier and grew up playing soccer.
In early 2015, she published her first novel called London Love.

Awards
In 2011, Atkin was awarded "Best Serial Drama Performance" and "Best Newcomer" by the Transgender Zone Television Awards, for her portrayal of Jason Costello on Hollyoaks. Hollyoaks was also awarded 'Best Serial Drama' by the Transgender Zone Television Awards 2011 for the Jason Costello story line.
