Victoria Summer (born 15 December 1981) is an English singer, songwriter, model and actress. After beginning her career in horror films Summer transitioned into more mainstream roles starting with the Brian Herzlinger film How Sweet It Is. She played Julie Andrews in Saving Mr. Banks, a 2013 film about the making of Mary Poppins.[1][2]
Career
Summer started her career with a scholarship to the Arts Educational School in London and appeared in the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in 2002.
Summer landed her first role in the 2006 low budget horror film The Zombie Diaries,[3] which was picked up for distribution by the Weinstein Company.[4] Summer relocated to Los Angeles in 2009 and secured the lead in a modern retelling of Bram Stoker's Dracula entitled Dracula Reborn directed and produced by Last House on the Left producer Ray Haboush.[5]
In 2010, Summer starred in a Subaru commercial for Spike TV which debuted at the 2010 Scream Awards.
In 2011, Victoria was cast as British teacher with anger management issues in the Brian Herzlinger film How Sweet It Is and also released her debut single Love Will Have to Wait later in the year.
Summer played Julie Andrews in the Walt Disney Pictures vehicle Saving Mr. Banks, a 2013 film about the making of Mary Poppins, also starring Tom Hanks as Walt Disney and Emma Thompson as author P.L. Travers.[6][7] She will also star alongside Casper Van Dien in the 3D action film Higher Mission where she performs Truth Hurts, an original song.[8]
She appears in Transformers: Age of Extinction as Joshua's executive assistant.[8][9]
In 2014, Summer was cast as a British nurse in the Damien Lay film The Uberkanone.[10]
Personal life
Summer was born in Berkshire, England. She is an ambassador for the Foundation for a Drug-Free World,[11] a Scientologist anti-drug charity.[12]
