Vidyashilp Academy is a private, co-educational school located in Jakkur, Bangalore, India. Since its inception in 1996, the school has been committed to providing an educational experience that enables students to "do well and do good" anywhere in the world. Its in-house curriculum that is centered around personalized learning, from grades 1 to 6 branches into university and life preparatory stages for students from grade 7 onwards.

The school is affiliated to The Council For The Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) and the University Of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). The faculty at VSA are wholly focused on creating a learning environment which not only lets students excel academically, but also help them grow into well-rounded and socially aware individuals.

Learning at Vidyashilp Academy

Academically the school is highly successful, offering a broad range of subjects, hands-on learning opportunities for students in a real world context as well as university placements. In 2015, 70.8 percent of the A level results were graded A*/A, with a majority of the students named as AS and A Level World and Country toppers Over the years, graduates from Vidyashilp Academy have been offered placements in Symbiosis, BITS Pilani, Flame, Ashoka University, NMIMS, Nanyang University, London School of Economics, Harvard, Purdue University, NYU, University of Pennsylvania, Brown College.

Sports wise, the school is famed for its hockey and cricket achievements and has a choice of 18 indoor and outdoor sporting activities for students to choose from. Students are also actively involved in debate clubs, green conservation projects, Model United Nations MUN, youth entrepreneurship projects, student leadership council and editorial projects for the school's newspaper.

Students benefit from the "learning in diversity" program where they interact with peers from other cultures in the international student exchange program. The school balances academic learning with activities (namely the Agents of Change and Shilp-Sparsh) that develop active compassion in students. Students are encouraged to initiate community involvement programs that is based on a combination of real-world learning application and practiced empathy.[2]

Campus

Vidyashilp Academy is located near the Jakkur Flying Club in Yelahanka, Bengaluru North. With over 100,000 square feet of super built-up area spread over 18 acres, the school has the largest day educational campus in India.

Within the walls of the campus lies the largest skating rink in Bangalore, along with a 50-metre swimming pool and an indoor facility for aerobics, yoga, table tennis, and chess. The school also has a full-sized cricket field, a football field, a hockey field, a volleyball court, 2 basketball courts, and 3 badminton courts.

The school campus has been designed to ensure that learning is not restricted to the confines of a classroom. The school supports its educators in choosing appropriate learning environments for their classes, whether it is the lawn, garden, under the shade of the mango tree or even in the hallway. It is a common sight to see students taking a class outside a traditional classroom.

With the focus on practical learning, the school has set up state-of-the-art laboratories for a multitude of subjects that are not limited to the pure sciences. Apart from separate biology, chemistry, and physics labs, the school has language labs and a cookery lab to help develop the literary and culinary skills of our students. It also has set up a state-of-the-art computer lab and an E-lab where students can research any topic that interests them.
