Vidyut Sivaramakrishnan

Vidyut Sivaramakrishnan (born December 3, 1981) is an Indian cricketer. He is the son of cricketer Venkatraman Sivaramakrishnan and nephew of Venkatraman Ramnarayan. Vidyut has a sibling, Nikhil. Vidyut is married to Sharanya Vidyut and lives in Chennai, India.

Early life

Vidyut wanted to play hockey early in life but soon changed his mind and decided to play cricket. He soon became a cricketer in his school. He started off his own cricketing career as a left arm orthodox spin bowler, but is now a full-time top order batsman. In his school he had put up a 100 run partnership with his classmate Abhinand Gopalan in 1996 and was soon selected for the List A team.

Career

Vidyut played for Tamil Nadu in the Ranji Trophy. He has also played for Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League.

He last played in the IPL three years back. He was removed from the CSK squad when it was trimmed down. He last played a professional match in 2010. He is also the only number 11 batsman from India (and fourth in the world) to score a first class century (100 runs).
