Opening Ceremony Wiener Festwochen 2014

The Wiener Festwochen (Vienna Festival) is a cultural festival in Vienna that takes place every year for five or six weeks in May and June. The Wiener Festwochen (Vienna) was established in 1951, when Vienna was still occupied by the four Allies.[1] Luc Bondy was the artistic director of the festival from 2002 to 2013.[2]

The opening of the Wiener Festwochen is an open-air event with free admission held in the square in front of Vienna’s City Hall.[3]

Each year the festival attracts about 180,000 visitors.[1]
