Dr. Vijay Kumar Roy (born 1978) is a bilingual poet, writer and editor from Darbhanga, Bihar, India. He writes in English and Hindi. He has to his credit 16 books and a number of research articles.[1][2][3][4]
Bio
Dr. Vijay Kumar Roy was born on 8 April 1978 in Darbhanga, Bihar. He earned his BA Honours in English in 1999, master's degree in English in 2002 and PhD in 2008 all from Lalit Narayan Mithila University (LNMU), Darbhanga. He also obtained LLB from the same university, and BEd from IGNOU, PG Diploma in Human Rights from Indian Institute of Human Rights, New Delhi and Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) from the University of Cambridge, UK.
Career
After completing his higher education, he started his career as a Lecturer in English at SRM University ,[5] NCR Campus, Modinagar, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh in August 2008 and rose to Assistant Professor and Head, Department of English & Foreign Languages subsequently. He also taught at Mizan–Tepi University, Ethiopia, and Shri Venkateshwara University, Gajraula, Uttar Pradesh. Dr. Roy was elected Executive Member of North Zone in the general elections of the Association for English Studies of India[6] in 56th All India English Teachers' Conference ( 18–20 December 2011, Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh) and served the post for a term. Presently, he teaches English at Northern Borders University, Arar, Saudi Arabia.[7]
Work
Dr. Roy's poems have appeared in various journals, both of national and international reputation. His poems have been anthologized in Poets' Paradise (2010), The Fancy Realm (2011), The Melodies of Immortality (2012), The Poetic Bliss (2012) The Rainbow Hues (2014) and Happy Isle (2015).[8]
He is editor-in-chief of Ars Artium,[9] poetry editor of Lapis Lazuli,[10] associate editor of Akshara and a member in editorial boards of Anglisticum Journal,[11] Global Journal of English Language and Literature, The Contour,[12] Thematics Journal of Commonwealth Literature, and International Journal of Engineering, Economics and Management (IJEEM).[13] He is a member in international advisory board of The Literary Herald[14] and member in Scientific Board of Arts, Literature and Social Sciences of International Centre of Economics, Humanities and Management (ICEHM).[15] He is a life member of the Association for English Studies of India (AESI), The Poetry Society (India), Academic Studies and Research Association, Darbhanga, and an annual member of some other literary societies.
