The Viljandi school shooting was a school shooting that occurred on 27 October 2014, at a high school in Viljandi, the seat of Viljandi County, Estonia.[3][4][5][6][7][8] The gunman was a 15-year-old student Vahur Ruth. The gunman killed Ene Sarap, his German language teacher at the school. Four other students were also present during the shooting.[9] The weapon used for the killing, a revolver, is believed to have belonged to the perpetrator's father.[10][11]

The incident represents the only case of a school shooting in Estonia.[12]

The 20th of October 2015 Ruth was sentenced to 9 years in prison
