Vince Lynch is a Los Angeles-based entrepreneur best known for his work in the technology, music and media industries. He is a co-founder of Synkio,[1] an online marketplace for licensing music.

Personal life

Vince Lynch comes from Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, a manufacturing town known for its General Motors production facilities.[2]

Career

Vince Lynch joined CKQB as producer in 2000 and created the national album premiers for The StrokesIs This It’ & U2's ‘All That You Can't Leave Behind’. In 2001 he was the launch production director for CIKR and went on to win station of the year at Canadian Music Week. In 2003 he moved to The UK to be the network producer for GWR Group and its 43 radio stations. In 2004 he became the creative director for Virgin Radio when Broadcast singled Lynch out as 'One To Watch' for achieving so much so quickly.[3] In 2008 he became creative director for The Times of India and created Fun Cooker the external digital agency for Spotify. In 2010 he was the producer of ‘Gorillaz On The Road’,[4] a series documenting life on the road for Gorillaz. In 2011 he built the Matt Berry's ‘Dirty Work’ App which The Guardian voted 10 Best Apps.[5] In 2013 he founded Synkio and online music marketplace for licensing.[6]

Public appearances

He speaks at universities, tech events [7] and conferences including SXSW [8] and Cannes. In 2014 he presented the Top Moments in the History of Advertising at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity.[9]

Charitable work

Lynch was the driving force behind a crowd-sourced single[10] created to give exposure & all proceeds to the UK's homeless charity Shelter. The project partnered Abbey Road Studios, Absolute Radio,[11] Shelter, YouTube & Ignition Creative.[12] The single created millions of impressions for the charity worldwide thanks to the thousands of musicians & artists who were all featured in the music and the video.[13] In 2012 he created Abby Road Raw to give young unsigned artists a chance to play, record and showcase their music live in the iconic Abby Road Studios.[14]
