Vincent Pichay Crisologo (born May 31, 1947), better known as Bingbong, is a Filipino politician and a well known Catholic Charismatic preacher.[1] He is the incumbent congressman of the 1st congressional district of Quezon City, Philippines having served in the 13th (2004-2007), 14th (2007-2010) and 15th (2010-2013) congress as representative of the 1st district. Before he was elected as Congressman, he was a City Councilor of Quezon City for two terms (1998-2004).
Family History
Bingbong Crisologo was born in Vigan, Ilocos Sur. Bingbong is the son of the late Floro Crisologo who was the representative of the Province of Ilocos Sur from 1961 until his unfortunate assassination in 1972. His mother, Carmeling Crisologo was a governor of Ilocos Sur. He is a maternal cousin of Luis "Chavit" Crisologo Singson who is the incumbent governor of Ilocos Sur. He is married to Rita Dario Crisologo and has 4 sons, Floro Cornelius II (Chip), Alexander Philip (Alex), Anthony Peter (Onyx) and Frederick William (Edrix), he also has 5 grandkids.
Early life
Assassination of his father
On October 18, 1970, Bingbong's father, Floro, the then congressman of Ilocos Sur, was attending the Sunday mass at the Vigan Cathedral and was about to fall in line for the communion when a lone gunman shot him in the head. The incident caused panic in the church so the assassin was able to run and disappear. Up to this day, the murder has not been solved and it is believed that it was politically motivated.

Political Life
Bid for Senate
In the first democratic elections after the regime of Ferdinand Marcos, 1992, he ran for senator under the ticket of the Nacionalista Party (Nationalist's Party). Unfortunately, he did not make the magic number of 24, the number of seats allotted in the Philippine Senate.
First Bid for Congressman
He ran as congressman in 1995 in the first district of Quezon City against Rey Calalay and Ato Yap. He lost in this elections to Congressman Rey Calalay who was a beloved figure in the district. The two eventually became very good friends and when Congressman Calalay Sr died in 2003, he personally endorsed Bingbong to fill in his slot as the representative of the first district. Bingbong ran in 2004 and decisively won.
Councilor
He is a two-termer council member of Quezon City, having served from 1998-2004. He first ran in 1998 and was reelected in 2001. He ran alongside his very close political ally, the late Congressman Rey Calalay. The two were known to be a great tandem and loved by the people of the first district.
Congress
Congressman Crisologo is a three-term representative in the House being elected for the first time in 2004 and subsequently reelected in 2007 and 2010. He is vice-chairman for the Appropriations, Housing and Urban Development, Information and Communications Technology, Labor and Employment, and Ways and Means Committees of Congress.[2]
He is also a member of the following Committees; Metro Manila Development, Millennium Developmental Goals, Public Works and Highways, and Science and Technology.[3]
Vincent Crisologo in popular culture
A biopic of Crisologo's life was released in 1991, with Rudy Fernandez playing him as a young man.
The character of Bing Bong in the Pixar animated feature Inside Out was named after Crisologo; co-director Ronnie del Carmen lived in Crisologo's congressional district in Quezon City before migrating to the United States, and had always wanted to use the congressman's "melodic" name in his work day.
