Vincent Massey Junior School (Vincent Massey JS, VMJS or Massey, in actuality, Vincent Massey Public School) is located at 68 Daisy Avenue West in Long Branch area of Toronto, Canada. This school has kindergarten through grade five. It is administered by the Toronto District School Board.

Overview

Opened in 1929 as Daisy Avenue Public School,[1][2] it was closed by the then Etobicoke Board of Education in 1983, briefly operated as a private school and now as Vincent Massey Day Care and Nursery School.[3] The older children go to neighbouring James S. Bell Middle School and Lakeshore Collegiate Institute. The property remains under the Toronto District School Board, now under Toronto Lands Corporation (leased out to a daycare since 1985, but potential asset for sale in the future).[4] This is the school where Degrassi Junior High was filmed. The school also appears in the movie The Last Detail.

The school is named after Vincent Massey, former Governor General of Canada, one of several across Canada:
