Dr. Vinod Surana is the CEO & Managing Partner of full service law firm Surana and Surana International Attorneys.[1]
Education
Vinod's initial education was at Chennai having obtained his Bachelors in law from Madras University, India.[2] He later went on to Cornell University, USA to complete his L.L.M. Vinod became the first non-American International President of The International Law Students Association (ILSA), a body which enjoys advisor status to the U.N.[3] He went on to receive diplomas and executive training from Harvard University, London School of Economics, Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad and Indian School of Business Hyderabad.[4] Vinod came a full circle when he completed his Doctorate in law from University of Madras.
Professional Work
He has been instrumental in expansion of the firm's Corporate & International practice. A certified director & strategic thinker he plays an advisory role and is on board with several corporate. He has propagated the Surana model for sustainable development. He has brought out the following publications & reports.

Achievements
- International
Vinod was the only lawyer to be part of the Indian Prime Minister’s delegation to Japan in 2007 and to South Africa in 2008. He led several delegations under the banner of Confederation of Indian Industry[CII] and Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry [FICCI] to the Caribbean, South America & Israel (consisting of leading industrialists, investors and government officials) to promote Indian diplomatic, political and business interests in that region.[5] Vinod has been sponsored for several training programs by the Governments of Germany, Japan and United States of America specializing in the areas of law, management and technology.

Under his leadership and administration, his law firm conducts 14 moot court competitions annually. Benefited over 32,000 law students in the past 13 years – making it the largest exercise of its kind in the World. Several legal and academic experts including Justice V.R. Krishna Iyer, Justice Dalveer Bhandari (ICJ), Justice A.R. Lakshmanan (Chairman, Law Commission of India), Justice Dipak Mishra (SCI), Justice Sirpurkar (SCI), Mr. Fali S. Nariman, Mr. D.V. Subba Rao, Prof. Moolchand Sharma, Prof. Madhav Menon, Prof. N.L. Mitra among others have acclaimed and acknowledged Dr. Surana’s contribution to the development of legal writing and oral advocacy skills among generations of Indian law students.
Awards
Vinod has been recognized for his professional achievements and social work. He was conferred with the prestigious Vishwa Yuva Ratna Award in 2010, Yuva Pratibha Shodh Sadhana Seva Samman Award in 2011 and the Rajasthan Yuva Ratna Award in 2012.[6]
