Virajpet (Vidhan Sabha constituency)
Virajpet Vidhan Sabha constituency (Kannada: ವಿರಾಜಪೇಟೆ ವಿಧಾನ ಸಭೆ ಚುನಾವಣಾ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ) is one of the 224 Karnataka Legislative Assembly constituencies of Karnataka.
Virajpet Vidhan Sabha constituency is a part of Mysore Lok Sabha constituency. From 1957 to 2008, it was a part of the erstwhile Mangalore Lok Sabha constituency and was merged with the Mysore Lok Sabha constituency in 2008 by the Delimitation Commission.[1] Virajpet was a part of the erstwhile Coorg State till 1956, when under the States Reorganisation Act, 1956, it became a part of the Mysore State (now Karnataka). As of 2013, it had an electorate of 1,93,966 voters.[2]
