Viral arthritis is an infectious condition in chickens and to a lesser extent, turkeys, due to a reovirus.

The disease is egg-transmitted.[1]

The prominent symptom is a swelling of digital flexor and metatarsal extensor tendons. The hock joint itself is not so sharply affected, showing just a small amount of synovial exsudate when opened.[2]
