Future
The Viva Pink line will be replaced by a subway line on the portion of the route from Richmond Hill Centre to Finch Station, as part of the Toronto Transit Commission's Yonge subway extension, and by Viva Purple along the Highway 7 portion of the route, enabling Viva buses to quickly pass through traffic.
On August 18, 2013, the rapidway along Highway 7 opened from Richmond Hill Centre to East Beaver Creek. The next year, it opened to Town Centre Blvd, and to Cedarland on December 28, 2014.
A transitway was to be implemented from Richmond Hill Centre to Finch Station, but after the announcement of MoveOntario 2020 by the Ontario provincial government, proposals of this transitway have been shelved and replaced with proposals of a subway extension on Yonge Street north.
