Vladimir Sveshnikov (Latvian: Vladimirs Svešņikovs; Russian: Владимир Евгеньевич Свешников; born 6 May 1986, Riga, Latvia) is a Latvian chess player. He was awarded the International Master title in 2011.

Biography

The oldest son of Grandmaster Evgeny Sveshnikov. Vladimir Sveshnikov was the winner of the Latvian Junior Chess Championships in U14 age group. He participated in the European Junior Chess Championships in different age groups. He was best Latvian player in Riga Technical University open 2011 and was ranked third.[1]

Vladimir Sveshnikov was regularly participated in Latvian Chess Championship and won this tournament in 2016.[2]

Vladimir Sveshnikov played for Latvia in Chess Olympiads:[3]

In 2015 together with his father wrote the book A Chess Opening Repertoire for Rapid & Blitz, issued in English and Russian.[4][5]
