Volunteer for Bangladesh

The first ever volunteer wing of JAAGO Foundation, Volunteers for Bangladesh (VBD) was founded in 2011 Dhaka, Bangladesh. With the support from the U.S. Embassy, Dhaka, VBD has successfully established 21 Volunteer Action Groups throughout the country. These Volunteer Action Groups independently run their own projects under the supervision of a local district board. With the aim of empowering young citizens and facilitating volunteerism in Bangladesh, VBD works towards develop self reliance and awareness amongst citizens. Through Volunteer for Bangladesh, it becomes easier for the youth to materialize their ideas into action Established with the spirit of youth and volunteerism; VBD’s key campaigning events include celebrating Universal Children’s Day, World Water Day, School of Survivors and last but not the least the Great Kindness Challenge.

To extend its reach outside Bangladesh and to spread the word worldwide, VBD has already created online Volunteer branches in Australia, Canada, UK and the USA. To date, above 12,000 registered volunteers are working together to bring positive changes in the lives of the masses of Bangladesh. The ultimate goal of VBD is to engage youth throughout the whole country in all 64 districts.
