Władysław Findysz

Blessed Władysław Findysz (born December 13, 1907 in Krościenko Niżne near Krosno – died August 21, 1964 in Nowy Żmigród, Poland) was a Polish Catholic priest. He is regarded as a martyr by the church as he was imprisoned by the Communist regime in 1963 until shortly before his death for the 'crime' of sending religious newsletters to his parishioners.

The Apostolic Letter, with which Pope Benedict XVI inscribed him in the Roll of Blessed, was solemnly published in Warsaw on 19 June 2005. This is the first successful cause for beatification based on the martyrdom of a Servant of God who was the victim of the Communist Regime in Poland.
