W. E. Blewitt

Major General William Edward Blewitt CB CMG CBE (24 September 1854 – 18 April 1939[1]) was a British artillery officer.[2]

He joined the Royal Artillery in 1874 and served during the Second Boer War where he was despatched twice. He commanded the Southern Coast Defences, 1911–1914; and the Portsmouth Garrison, 1914–1916 during World War I.
