WJET (1400 AM) is a news talk radio station broadcasting in Erie, Pennsylvania. It used to be known as WLKK.
WJET primarily runs a schedule of syndicated talk offerings, with the exception of morning drive time. Erie Talk in the Morning is hosted by Barry Dain Steinhagen and Jim LeCorchick. The station follows with standard syndicated fare such as Glenn Beck, The Sean Hannity Show, Neal Boortz, Dave Ramsey, Dr. Joy Browne and Coast to Coast AM. The Rush Limbaugh Show was dropped in December 2008 after Premiere Radio Networks demanded higher rights fees.
In popular culture
For many years, WJET was the leading Top 40 radio station for all of Erie, especially during the 1960s. WJET was mentioned in the movie That Thing You Do!, where the call letters are mentioned while Faye (Liv Tyler) is mailing a letter and listening to a transistor radio in her ear.
