WMUN-CD is a class A station license in New York. It is operating on digital channel 45 airing Informercials.

History

as W57BC, WLIG, and WLNY

Founded in 1988 the station was owned by WLIG now WLNY-TV Inc. It was an independent translator station out of Mineola, NY after W44AI now WNYX-LD move the license to New York City as an independent station programming Public Access TV. In the following years the call sign changes from WLIG-LP, WLNY-LP, and back to the original call sign of WLIG-CD in 2010. Despite the call sign changes the program stays much of the same. WLNY-TV announce that they will be selling to CBS. Hoping that the translator stations will be included once the sell and the transition complete. Instead WLNY sold the station to Local Media in 2012 thus it cease broadcasting.

As WMUN-CD

In mid-2012 the call sign changed to WMUN-CD and began running Classic Arts Showcase full-time. By late 2012 classic arts showcase was dropped and began airing Informercials. The following year children's programming was added to fulfill E/I requirements plus locally produced programming such as community impact. In the summer of 2014 The Balancing Act lifetime TV series was added in the afternoons. WMUN-CD is the third television station that is currently operating W19EH-D as a translator, behind WEBR-CD, WCBS-TV and WPIX. Community impact was moved to late afternoons in 2015 and adding additional children programing to extend an hour each weekday and weekend afternoons thus it exceed the E/I requirements. A few weeks later the children's programing along with public affairs programming was dropped and began to air informercials full-time. The following year E/I programing returned on the air.
