History

The station was assigned the call letters WMLY on June 28, 1989. On December 1, 1995, the station changed its call sign to WBNC-FM. As WBNC-FM, it aired a country format simulcast with 1050/WBNC. On December 17, 2001 it became the current WVMJ.^[2] WVMJ changed formats to Hot Adult Contemporary and its moniker to Magic 104 on December 26, 2001. It is an affiliate of American Top 40.
