WYBL (98.3 FM) is a radio station broadcasting a Country Music format. Licensed to Ashtabula, Ohio, USA

History

More Country Guaranteed 98.3 The Bull went on the air in August 2005. The 98.3 FM frequency had actually belonged to then owner Clear Channel for a number of years. 98.3FM and sister station 107.5FM were purchased in an auction at the same time. 107.5FM was focused on and developed first as a Classic Rock station. 98.3FM "The Bull" came years later. Before becoming the country station that it would become, the signal of 98.3 was used for some time to run oldies (presumable to test the frequency and market for popularity). Soon after, The Bull came to air.

In Fall of 2007, Clear Channel sold the 5 station Ashtabula cluster to Media One Group. Rumors immediately began surrounding a format flip coming to one of the stations in the cluster. Although "The Bull" had garnered a strong cult following, "The Bull" appeared to be on the "hot seat" the most of the stations in the cluster having never gained the popularity of its sister stations WREO-FM (Hot AC), WFXJ-FM (Classic Rock), WZOO-FM (top 40 at the time), and WFUN-AM (news-talk at the time).
