WYKT is a radio station in northeastern Illinois. It is licensed to Wilmington, Illinois and broadcasts syndicated sports talk with an effective radiated power of 1,300 watts at 147 meters height above average terrain.[1]
History
In 1995 WYKT was Triple-A but picked up the WDRE Underground Network at night.[2]
Prior to 2003 WYKT aired a Rock format similar to its present format as "The Kat".[3] From 2003 to 2007 WYKT aired a 60s and 70s Oldies format branded as "The Pickle".[4] WYKT aired a Top 40 format and was branded as "My 105.5", before switching to its current format on September 15, 2009.[5]
The last song played as "The Kat" was "Wait for Me" by Rise Against. After that song the Kat became 105.5 The Ticket, effective July 10 2014.
