Wajahat Masood

Wajahat Masood (Urdu: وجاہت مسعود) is a Pakistani Columnist and Political Analyst. He is a Liberal and Human Rights Activist. He is currently working With Daily Jang. He has earlier worked with BBC and other. [1][2][3] Wajahat Masood, born 1966, did his graduation from Government College Lahore and M.A. English from Punjab University. Later, he earned an LLM in International Human Rights Law from Leeds University, UK. He has been active in three fields, education, human rights and journalism. He worked as Director, Democratic Commission for Human Development for 11 years besides acting as a consultant for different international development agencies. He was associated with national dailies such as The News, The Post and Aaj Kal. He worked as the editor of monthly Nawa-i-insaan, Daily Mashriq and weekly Hum Shehri. He was a columnist for BBC Urdu service during 2005-08. He has been a political analyst for PTV and Radio Pakistan besides commentating for different private television channels. He has authored several books on politics, history, culture and literature. He was teaching at Beacon-house National University till July 2015 when he resigned. He is currently editing E-paper Dunyapakistan.com besides writing a bi-weekly column for the most widely circulated Urdu Language Newspaper in the country, Daily Jang.

On nation's 68th Independence Day, the President of Pakistan conferred Pride of Performance Award upon Wajahat Masood for his contributions to the field of journalism. The investiture ceremony will take place on March 23, 2016.
