Awards Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross

Walther Graeßner (31 January 1891 – 16 July 1943) was a highly decorated General der Infanterie in the Wehrmacht during World War II who commanded the XII. Armeekorps. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Walther Graeßner was wounded in mid-February and later died of his wounds on 16 July 1943.
