Wanlaweyn is a small town in the southeastern Lower Shebelle (Shabeellaha Hoose) region of Somalia. Situated around 50 miles northwest of the capital Mogadishu, it is the center of the Wanlaweyn District.
Demographics
Wanlaweyn has a population of around 26,700 inhabitants.[1] The broader Wanlaweyn District has a total population of 155,643 residents.[2]
Transportation
The settlement is served by an airstrip located about 7 miles to its northwest.
