Water-Gen is an Israel based company designing state-of-the-art solutions for supplying water. Among these are atmospheric water generation (drinking water-from-air), treatment of air conditioning run-off water, and battery-operated mobile water purification units. The products are designed as ground, vehicle-mounted, and back-carried installations. The company has been selling its products to customers such as the US Army, UK Army, French Army, Israel Defense Forces, and others.

During the course of the past year, Water-Gen has entered civilian mass market. Using the same reliable and low-cost technology, Water-Gen has been able to design unique Atmospheric Water Generation units and Battery powered water Purification units, all based on its proven, well-established know-how.

Safe and readily available drinking water is important for public health. With Water-Gen atmospheric water generation technology you can produce highest quality of drinking water available without any risk of contamination found both in surface and groundwater sources. Water-Gen technology removes any dust and dirt from the air before it is filtered in a unique multi-stage water purification system to provide the finest quality of drinking water. The produced water is then stored in an integral tank, which is kept continuously sterile, allowing conservation of safe, premium drinking water at all times.

Additional field of using Water-Gen’s unique technology is air dehumidification field for common home appliances such as: air dehumidifiers, laundry dryers, air conditioners, equipment for dry storage, chemical plants, food, medicine etc. In these areas, Water-Gen technologies can decrease energy consumption significantly (saving up to 40% of the energy consumption) by using inexpensive materials (mostly simple plastic), small size, and highly efficient methods and components. For example, allowing commercial laundry dryers to meet energy rating of “A” rather than commonly available “B” and “C” energy rating.

GENNY water-from-air unit provides a safe, pure water supply. The unit can overcome the dependency on municipal water systems, or transport, storage and distribution of bottled or canned water while offering a significant saving of money and consumables. Water-Gen high-efficiency AWG solutions ensure drinking water at any point of time at almost any place.
Spring water purification unit provides safe and readily available drinking water in off-grid locations where no pure clean drinking water or electricity supply is available. The unit is operated by rechargeable batteries backed by collapsible solar panels. Together, these provide a daily amount of 1000 liters of pure drinkable water to isolated and remote place.
The vehicle-mounted GEN40V extracts water from air and supplies cold, fresh, pure drinking water for the vehicle's crew. The system is optimized to operate in a wide range of environmental conditions and produces 40 liters/day (12 gallons/day) at 25oC (77oF) and 55% Relative Humidity. Units are scaled to fit tactical vehicles, and can be produced in different dimensions and shapes. Cold water is served from a tap in the vicinity of the cabin. Water production is automatically optimized as ambient climatic conditions change. Water quality meets TB MED (USA), STANAG (NATO), World Health Organization (WHO) and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards.
Water-Gen's Water Treatment Unit (WTU) harvests the water produced by A/C systems and purifies it to achieve high quality drinking water. The WTU can also be connected to the A/C controller in order to increase and optimize the water production capabilities of the system without disrupting its main function - moderating air temperature. The water produced by the A/C is passed through a filtration and sterilization system and through a mineralization filter that adjusts the acidity of the water and improves its taste and quality.
Water-Gen’s technology may be used in other applications: (1) Commercial dehumidifier for residential use, for example: dehumidifier operating at 540 Watt-hour/liter under conditions of 27oC and 60% RH with Water-Gen technology can achieve the same dehumidification results at 325 Watt-hour/liter saving 40% of the energy consumption rated today as an Energy Star; (2) Condenser laundry dryers, using the technology as an integral “plastic” condenser achieves a 15% reduction of the energy required to dry the laundry in comparison to a current condenser dryer.

Recent Activities

During the 7th Vibrant Gujarat Summit, at Gujarat, India, Water-Gen announced its entry into the Indian market with the showcase of three solutions – Atmospheric water generations; “Spring” Portable Battery Operated Water Purification System and Water Treatment of air conditioner run off waste. These solutions were showcased in Vibrant Gujarat Summit and Water-Gen aims to partner with leading domestic player/s to manage manufacture, sales, marketing and distribution of these products and plans to set up a R&D center in the country.^[1]

Battery powered water Purification units in action, on Wednesday 13 November 2013, Israel sent a 150-strong humanitarian rescue and response team to the Philippines in the devastating wake of Typhoon Haiyan. Medical teams and national search and rescue experts from the IDF (Israel Defense Forces) were dispatched to offer support and assistance and, equipped with an advanced multi-department medical facility, they were able to treat some 2700 injured and wounded and carry out over 60 life-saving operations. Both water and electricity systems crashed and Water- Gen’s Spring unit was used to deliver drinking water.^[2]
