Way2SMS.com is an online portal based in Hyderabad, India, offering free and unlimited SMS across India funded by private advertisements. It was owned by Way2Online Interactive India Pvt Ltd.

Way2SMS.com is a person-to-person communication network web site founded by Raju Vanapala in 2006. It is India's first free text messaging portal that also allows chat, email and social media alerts. Alexa Traffic Rank of the website is ranked number 509 in the world and 34th in list of "Top Sites in India ". Founded in 2006, the website is India's first free text messaging portal. The website apart from text messaging service, allows registered users to chat, get email and social media alerts.[1][2] It supports all mobile networks in India (both GSM & CDMA networks). However, out of standard size of 160 characters, it allow 140 characters is for user’s message, rest of the characters will be filled with “Sent via WAY2SMS.COM”.
Various features available on the website includes the ability to send free sms to any mobile phone with a word limit of 160 words, free email to sms alerts to any mobile phone using the email forwarding option provided by almost all email service providers including Gmail, Yahoo and live mail.[3] A recently introduced features include the option to recharge your phone for free but the users will have to get their friends, families members or anyone else to click/read some email ads, which adds to their credit which in turn can be redeemed to get recharge on any Mobile phone number, the minimum redeemable value being INR 10.[4]
The website is visited by users from 30 countries every day and adds around 7 lakh new customers every month.[5] As of September 2011, the website had reached a milestone of 20 million users (One in four-five internet users in India). The website also manages a massive 365 million mobile contacts and is reaching over 55 million mobiles every month.[6] In a press release, Raju stated that about 82 per cent of its users are aged between 18-30.[7]
The company had been acquired by ValueFirst in 2012 and was in a controversy in the process of acquisition Later out-of-court settlement cancelled the acquisition.[8] It reportedly has a yearly turnover of 250 crores, As of 2013.[9]
