The Waybury Inn is an inn located in Middlebury, Vermont, United States in the Green Mountains region. The inn was built in 1810 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.[1][2]
The inn maintains a tradition in which, in room 9, there is an antique desk with a secret drawer. Following the lead of a couple who found the drawer in 1987, guests often put notes in the drawer.[3]
The Waybury Inn was also used as a location for exterior shots on the Bob Newhart television series, Newhart, from 1982 to 1990.[4] Featured as the Stratford Inn, the Waybury Inn was painted white for the show. After the show went off the air in 1990, the inn was repainted green to match the nearby Green Mountains.
