The Wells Fargo Tower formerly the "Dominion Tower" and the "Wachovia Tower" is an office building located in Downtown Roanoke, Virginia.[1] It is currently the tallest building in Roanoke at 112 meters (369 feet) and is 21 stories tall. The building is located south of Hotel Roanoke. The top of the tower is a copper colored dome and at night is illuminated by 135 floodlights. At the top of the pyramid is a 48-foot spire. The building started construction in 1990 and ended in 1991. Once completed, it was the tallest building in Roanoke as well being the tallest building in western Virginia. The building's original name was Dominion Tower. Today, the building is known as the Wells Fargo Tower.
