Wema Sepetu (born 28 September 1988) is a Tanzanian beauty contestant who won the Miss Tanzania contest in 2006 Miss Tanzania. She represented Tanzania in Miss World 2006 which was held in Poland. She later on achieved fame and popularity in her home country by acting in Tanzanian Films.

Miss World 2006

One lovely day, Wema was out and about at Slipway (Masaki)and was spotted by Mange Kimambi who encouraged her to contest for Miss Tanzania. As luck had it, she won the title-beating fellow celebrities Jokate Mwegelo and Lisa Jensen. After winning the coveted title of Miss Tanzania in 2006, Wema traveled to Warsaw,Poland to compete in the Miss World 2006 however she failed to enter the top 17 semifinalists.^[1]

Acting career

After her stint at beauty contests, Wema ventured into Tanzanian films as an actress and has since gained a lot of popularity in her country. It was Steven Kanumba who first introduced her to the film industry. Her path in acting began in 2007 in her first movie, Point of no Return.

Early and Personal Life

Wema is the last born in the diplomatic family of Isaac Abraham Sepetu and Mariamu Said Sepetu, having three sisters. She is famously known for her whining voice-a character common among last borns. She was born at ST. Andrew’s hospital in Dar es Salaam and studied at Academic International before she flew to Malaysia to study International Business Studies at Limkokwing University. Madam Wema has many talents, including singing, acting and beautification. Wema is among the influential and beautiful women of Tanzania; having maternal ancestry from Singida (The lake zone tribe of Nyaturu, where very beautiful women hail from) and paternal ancestry from Zanzibar (the coast region, a famous island of Africa).^[2]

Like many celebrities, Wema has had a 'roller coaster' ride in relationships. She was seeing someone before she won the Miss Tanzania title, but after that they split because the guy claimed not to receive enough attention from her. Then Steven Kanumba, who was rising to be the greatest in his acting career and also her mentor in the film industry, entered into her life. The two were like magnet together, she would make him shine and he was rising at a rocket speed as they were both pursuing their acting careers. They were like Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith. Steven Kanumba had her best interests at heart and they were inlove until Wema screwed it up by falling inlove with a drug addict-Jumbe. This guy had a ferocious love towards Wema-he almost had Wema addicted too. At one point, Wema was arrested for being involved with Jumbe because of his drug dealings. Her mother and family were deeply worried that she would end up an addict too and they sought to save her from the mess. Thenafter, she was hooked up in a love by a Tanzanian Musician, Chalz Baba. Her parents were concerned with her behaviour of falling in love with men so they sent her to America, to her oldest sister-Tunu. Wema moved into the hands of Diamond Platnumz. He was still an underground artist by then, and he managed to turn around his career by her love and support. They supposedly met on Facebook when she commented on his wallposts, still in America by then. The story of Wema and Diamond Platnumz took over Tanzania by force. Diamond Platnumz put Wema on love triangles several times, with some of her closest friends like- Kajala and DJ Penny.^[3] Wema has dated a BBA Hotshot (season 9) Zambian housemate Luis Tshita Munana.^[4] This relationship did not last long, for reasons of long distance and cheating. Her current Man and the father of the living being inside her womb is BBA Hothots winner-2014, Idris Sultan.^[5] The couple is of age difference 6 years and everything looks to be fairing on well, paradise is peaceful.

Wema is a star who rose from beauty pagents to relationship scandals and finally to acting. She is The Darling of Tanzania. Many young people idolize her in East and the whole of Africa. She has an entertainment company 'Endless Fame' which produces her reality TV Show In My Shoes, Wema Sepetu. Wema is managed by Martin Kadinda, whom she has developed a deep relationship with-on a friendly level. Martin Kadinda is a successful designer and model. Her life and career inspires so many young people in the country that her fan base can sting you when you raise a finger at her. Wema has a beauty product, a lipstick named Kiss by Wema that was released on her birthday,28 September. Her social medias generate so much traffic-1.3M on Instagram Followers,243K-Twitter Followers and Facebook-342,954 likes.
