Wengernalp
The Wengernalp is an alpine meadow at an elevation of 1874 m, between Wengen and Kleine Scheidegg in the Swiss Alps. It can be reached on foot, by the Wengernalp railway (WAB) to Wengernalp station from Wengen or by skiing from Kleine Scheidegg.
In 1841 the hotel De la Jungfrau was opened; it was later rebuilt after a fire in 1865.
Amongst the many historical, famous people who have spent holidays on the Wengernalp are Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Abraham Lincoln, Richard Wagner and Peter Tchaikovsky.
