Werner-Friedrich Weinlig (28 November 1912 – 25 March 1979) was a highly decorated Kapitänleutnant in the Kriegsmarine during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership.

- ↑ There is no reference of the Knight's Cross awarded to Werner Weidlig in the German Federal Archives. His personal file contains a letter from 1955 by the Deutsche Dienststelle (WASt), indicating that no proof of the award exists. The date was assigned by the Association of Knight's Cross Recipients (AKCR).[3]
