West Devon was a county constituency in Devon, in the South-West of England. It returned one Member of Parliament to the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom, elected by the first past the post system.

The constituency was created for the February 1974 general election, and abolished for the 1983 general election, when it was largely replaced by the new Torridge and West Devon constituency.

Boundaries

The Municipal Boroughs of Great Torrington and Okehampton, and the Rural Districts of Holsworthy (the civil parishes of Abbots Bickington, Ashwater, Black Torrington, Bradford, Bradworthy, Bridgerule, Broadwoodwidger, Clawton, Cookbury, Halwill, Hollacombe, Holsworthy, Holsworthy Hamlets, Luffincott, Milton Damerel, Pancrasweek, Pyworthy, St-Giles-on-the-Heath, Sutcombe, Tetcott, Thornbury, Virginstow, and West Putford), Okehampton (the civil parishes of Ashbury, Beaworthy, Belstone, Bondleigh, Bratton Clovelly, Bridestowe, Broadwood Kelly, Chagford, Drewsteignton, Exbourne, Germansweek, Gidleigh, Hatherleigh, Highampton, Iddesleigh, Inwardleigh, Jacobstowe, Meeth, Monk Okehampton, Northlew, North Tawton, Okehampton Hamlets, Sampford Courtenay, Sourton, South Tawton, Spreyton, and Throwleigh), Plympton St Mary (the civil parishes of Bickleigh, Brixton, Cornwood, Eggbuckland, Ermington, Harford, Holbeton, Ivybridge, Laira Green, Newton and Noss, Newton Ferrers, Pennycross, Plymouth Lighthouse, Plympton St Maurice, Plymstock, Revelstoke, Shaugh Prior, Sparkwell, Wembury, Weston Peverell, and Yealmpton), Tavistock (the civil parishes of Bere Ferrers, Bradstone, Brentor, Buckland Monachorum, Coryton, Dunterton, Horrabridge, Kelly, Lamerton, Lewtrenchard, Lifton, Lydford, Marystow, Marytavy, Meavy, Milton Abbot, Petertavy, Sampford Spiney, Sheepstor, Stowford, Sydenham Damerel, Tavistock, Tavistock Hamlets, Thrushelton, Walkhampton, and Whitchurch), and Torrington (the civil parishes of Alverdiscott, Ashreigney, Beaford, Buckland Filleigh, Dolton, Dowland, Frithelstock, High Bickington, Huish, Huntshaw, Langtree, Little Torrington, Merton, Peters Marland, Petrockstow, Roborough, Shebbear, Sheepwash, St-Giles-in-the-Wood, Weare Giffard, Winkleigh, and Yarnscombe).
