West Port High School is a school in Ocala, Florida and one of eight public schools in Marion County, Florida. Founded in 2000 and constructed at 3733 SW 80th Avenue, West Port is the district school for West Ocala. Formerly West Port Middle and High School, the middle school disbanded in 2008 after Liberty Middle School was built. As of the 2012–13 school year, there was about 2,420 students attending West Port High School making it the largest school by population in the district. West Port also has the largest campus by area.

Programs and clubs

MCCA

West Port houses the MCCA (Marion County Center For The Arts) program, and is well established as one of the more distinctive and successful high school arts programs in Florida. It offers classes in digital media, photography, technical theatre/stagecraft, dance, theatre, drawing and painting, 3D sculpture, band, and digital art. The West Port auditorium has housed the Marion County Media Festival since the festival began.

Band

The West Port High School band has includes Symphonic, jazz, marching, and color guard programs. West Port's Top Jazz Ensemble has received straight superior ratings for the last eleven years and has received superior ratings at the state level many times.

Dual enrollment

Qualified WPHS students may accelerate their college education through dual enrollment courses. West Port is the only high school in Marion County which offers a full range of dual enrollment courses. Because of this, West Port more than any other school in the district has graduates that have already earned their AA degree from the College of Central Florida by the time they graduate high school. West Port is also the only school that serves as a satellite campus for the collegein the district, despite it being the closest to the main campus.

Sports

Sports played are football, volleyball, golf, swimming, slow pitch softball, cross country, bowling, basketball, soccer, wrestling, baseball, fast pitch softball, tennis, track, and weightlifting.
