Wetherby Gymnasium was the home of MSU's Eagles volleyball teams[2] through the 2015 season.[3] Prior to the Ellis Johnson Arena opening in 1981,[4] it also hosted the MSU basketball team.[2] In 2015, MSU began construction on a new facility for the volleyball teams, to be located in the Academic-Athletic Center.[5] The MSU Eagles women's volleyball team played the final game at Wetherby Gym on November 11, 2015.[3] MSU's master plan calls for the eventual replacement of the Wetherby building (along with the adjacent Laughlin Health Building) with a Music Academic and Performing Arts Education Building.[6]
