White Rock is the soundtrack for the "White Rock documentary film" about the 1976 Winter Olympics held in Innsbruck, Austria.[1][2]

A sequel to the album would be released in 1999. [3]

Trivia

During the opening show for the 1991 "Classical Connection European Tour" (which was released later that year on video as The Classical Connection) Wakeman said that when he went to the studio to record the album he had completely forgotten about a track he had been asked to compose, titled "After The Ball". Instead of confessing he had forgotten, he said he had it ready and proceeded to play a completely improvised song. The first take was a success and when asked if he would like to make an additional take he said the first was good enough. After The Ball became part of Wakeman's established repertoire and has been included in seven additional albums/videos (compilations and live recordings).[4][5]

The song "Ice Run" uses parts of "Anne Of Cleves" (a song from The Six Wives of Henry VIII). The comparison can be made by listening to "Anne Of Cleves" at 00:48 and "Ice Run" at 3:29.

That same year, the band The Shadows had also recorded a song called "Montezuma's Revenge" for their album Tasty. This was mere coincidence and the two songs had nothing to do with each other.
