WildChina' is a travel company based in Beijing, People's Republic of China, with an office in Washington, DC. WildChina specializes in bespoke tours and off the beaten path journeys.
History
WildChina was founded in 2000. Through the years, WildChina has grown from a small business operating out of Beijing, to a tour company operating journeys throughout mainland China under the leadership of founder Zhang Mei. Today, Although the company is a leader in its field, it remains committed to sustainable tourism. WildChina's competitors include Abercrombie & Kent.
WildChina Explorer Grant
In 2011, WildChina began offering the WildChina Explorer Grant. According to Nellie Connolly, a manager at WildChina, "The WildChina Explorer Grant is a grant of up to USD 3,000 that is awarded to adventurers seeking to push the boundaries of responsible, off-the-beaten-path travel in China."[1] The 2011 winner of the WildChina Explorer Grant was Jeff Fuchs.
