Will Schutt

Will Schutt (born 1981 New York City) is the author of Westerly (Yale University Press, 2013), selected by Carl Phillips as the winner of the 2012 Yale Series of Younger Poets award.[1]

Life

A graduate of Oberlin College and Hollins University with an MFA. He is the recipient of fellowships from the James Merrill House and the Stadler Center for Poetry and has served as the Reginald S. Tickner Writing Fellow at the Gilman School for 2013-2014 and 2014-2015. A Tennessee Williams Scholar in poetry at the Sewanee Writers' Conference and a Fellow in poetry at the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference, Schutt was awarded the Jeannette Haien Ballard Prize for poetry in 2014. His poems and translations have appeared or are forthcoming in Agni,[3] Blackbird,[4] FIELD, Narrative,[5] The New Republic, The Southern Review, The Kenyon Review, and elsewhere. He currently lives with his wife in Baltimore, Maryland. He is the son of American novelist Christine Schutt.
