William G. Parrett is a senior level manager having over 40 years of experience in professional services, during which he served public, private, governmental, and state-owned clients worldwide.[1]

Professional history and Memberships

Mr Parrett was the chairman of the Board of the United States Council for International Business from April 2005 through March 2010. Prior to that, Mr Parrett was the CEO of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu, and the co-founder of the Deloitte’s Global Financial Services Industry practice serving as its first chairman.[2][3]

Mr Parrett is a board member of the Blackstone Group. Since November 2007, he also occupies a board membership position at the Eastman Kodak Company. As of June 2008, Mr Parrett is a board member at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., at IGATE Corporation and UBS AG, the latter position he holds since October 2008. In addition, he is a member of the Board of Trustees of Carnegie Hall, the Committee on Capital Markets Regulation for International Business and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. His previous positions include a board membership at International Chamber of Commerce, chairman of the board of the United Way Worldwide and a trustee of the Catholic University of America.[4] He has provided service to many of the Deloitte’s leading clients serving as an Advisory or Leadership Partner, among others to General Motors, Merrill Lynch & Co., Abbott Laboratories, Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, Royal Bank of Canada, BASF, Bridgestone Corp., The Charles Schwab Corp., Marsh & McLennan Companies and The Procter & Gamble Company.[5]

Education, degrees and titles

Mr Parrett graduated with a Bachelor's degree (BBA) in accounting from St. Francis College, New York, in 1967. Subsequently, he acquired a title of a certified public accountant.[6] In April 2007, he was conferred an honorary degree of Doctorate for Humane Letter, from his Alma mater.[7]
