William James Young was the head coach for the William & Mary Tribe men's basketball team from 1911–1913.[1] He led the Tribe to a 10–6 record during his two-year tenure.[1] Young was also the head coach of William & Mary's football team for two seasons, 1911 and 1912. He went 1–12–2 during that time.[2] Young went on to serve as athletics director at the University of Maine in 1917.[3] He had previously attained his M.D. at the University of Pennsylvania.
