William Percy Sharpe
William Percy Sharpe (1871-1942) was an American Democratic politician.[1][2] He served as Mayor of Nashville, Tennessee from 1922 to 1924.[1][2]
Biography
Early life
William Percy Sharpe was born in Anderson, South Carolina in 1871.[1]
Career
In 1922, he was elected by the city council to replace Mayor Felix Zollicoffer Wilson, who was ousted.[1] He served until 1924.[1]
Personal life
He was married to Julia Margaret Nichol.[1] They had a son, William Percy Sharpe, Jr., and a daughter.[1] He died in Madison, Tennessee on November 13, 1942.[1] He is buried in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Nashville.[1]
