Wolf-Dietrich Ritter und Edler von Xylander[lower-alpha 1] (9 April 1903 – 15 February 1945) was a highly decorated Generalleutnant in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Wolf-Dietrich Ritter und Edler von Xylander was killed on 15 February 1945 in an airplane crash near Struppen, Germany. He was posthumously awarded the Knight's Cross on 20 February 1945.
