Wonderlick Entertainment

Wonderlick Entertainment is a boutique music company in Australia with management, recording and publishing arms. Wonderlick is 100% independent and is owned by directors Gregg Donovan and Stu MacQueen.

Gregg Donovan began within the music industry in the early 90s, starting out as a local promoter in Canberra before moving to Sydney to work as an office manager for promoter Steve Pavlovic (Pav Presents). He soon became a tour manager / promoter rep working with the likes of Fugazi, The Beastie Boys, NOFX and Ben Harper. He then went out on his own as a freelance tour manager, working with artists such as Pearl Jam, Ricky Martin, Shania Twain, At The Drive In, The Mars Volta, Deftones, Lily Allen, The Happy Mondays and Muse.[1] Gregg won two ALMAS (Australian Live Music Awards) for his work as a tour manager[2] and is also a founding member of the AAM (Australian Association of Managers).[3] In 2001 he started his own artist management company, Step2 Artist Management, which became Wonderlick Entertainment in 2007 after collaborating with business partner Stuart MacQueen.

Stuart MacQueen started his career in the early 90’s in Adelaide as an audio engineer and band manager. He shortly moved on to become the general manager of Krell Records and was in charge of setting up a label and production company from scratch. The label quickly signed and developed several artists that were licensed to major record companies and the company went on to enjoy several successes including a national Top 10 album with the band Testeagles. In 2000 Stuart was headhunted to become director of A&R at one of the biggest independent labels in Australia at the time, Shock Records in Melbourne.[4] Through the development of a broad roster and catalogue he was instrumental in helping Shock achieve a much higher market and radio share than they had ever achieved previously. In 2004 Stuart was asked by Shock Records owner David Williams to head up a new priority artist label for him called Public Opinion Music which enjoyed several top 5 singles and a gold album with Ricki-Lee Coulter.

In 2007 Stuart and Gregg Donovan collaborated to start Wonderlick Entertainment and began rapidly expanding Gregg's previous management roster, which now includes many of Australia’s leading artists. Stuart has also worked closely with Gregg to develop the business side of the company including its successful expansion into the areas of music publishing and recording.

Wonderlick now has a joint venture with Sony ATV Publishing as well as a label joint venture with Sony Music Australia.
