World University Service

The World University Service (WUS) is an independent international organisation founded in 1920 as an offshoot of the World Student Christian Federation to meet the needs of students and academics in the aftermath of World War One. Its original name was European Student Relief which later changed to International Student Service. It became WUS in 1950 when it took over World Student Relief. In the 1970s it began to focus on campaigning for educational rights for the disadvantaged.[1]
